Just End The Season – Kolb signs with the Bills

Posted: March 31, 2013 by B in Contracts, Jets

It was reported yesterday that Kevin Kolb signed a two-year $13 million deal with the Buffalo Bills pending a physical. As a Jets fan, what does it mean for me? It means that we are still stuck with Mark Sanchez as our starting QB. Early reports linked the Jets to Kolb once the Arizona Cardinals released him. As the mediocre teams of the AFC East improve (Buffalo Bills and Miami  Dolphins)  with their recent free agent additions (Kolb – Bills and Wallace, Ellerbe, Gibson, Keller, etc,), the New York Jets continued to experience the Rex-edous with Matt Slauson signing a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears on Friday.

The Jets have lost DeVito (Cheifs), Landry (Colts), Greene (Titans), Keller (Dophins), Slauson (Bears),  Bell (Cardinals) and have released Pouha, Scott, Thomas, and Moore. In a locker room that has been fractured over the past couple of seasons, gone are creditable veterans on both offense and defense and the Jets have put their trust in the great leaders of Sanchez and Holmes. Be afraid! Their defense is young and has the potential, but once again Ryan will be the defensive coordinator that he is great at…not a great head coach.

Jets fans have a short memory with the two AFC championship games that Ryan brought in his first two seasons. All I remember is the mediocre and losing seasons that the last two seasons have brought. The free agent additions of Colon, Goodson, and Garay are hardly the names that make you want to pick you spot in the Canon of Heroes. O, and I can’t forget the competition that was brought in for Sanchez…the immortal David Garrard! So with the Kolb signing in Buffalo us Jets fan are left with Sports Center’s Worst Play of the Year – The Butt Fumble:
