The 5-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets, last night, put the New York Islanders in 8th place in the Atlantic Division. The Isles are looking to secure a playoff birth, their first since 2007. Last night’s win was highlighted by recently signed Andres Lee’s first NHL goal. Lee inked a two-year deal on Monday, ending the chances of him becoming a free agent if he was not signed by this year’s June draft. The Isles have a two point lead over the rival New York Rangers, while the Rangers have two games at hand. The next week brings games against Washington, Tampa Bay, Philadelphia, Boston, and Rangers. Onward to the playoffs!
